Q. How do we book our wedding with you?
A. Please follow our contact us page to complete the form so we can confirm your details or call us on 01733 221318

Q. Can you cover weddings at short notice?
A. If I am available I am happy to make last minute bookings, pending payment is received prior to the day.

Q. Do we have to book one of your packages or can you tailor a package to suit my requirements and budget?
A. We are very flexible and would be happy to discuss alternative packages with you.

Q. Do we need to pay a booking deposit?
A.  A non-refundable deposit of £250 is required to confirm the booking along with a signed contract.  Dates are only reserved once the deposit has been paid.  Cheques should be made payable to Mr J Bowyer. An unconditional refund policy exists for a period of 14 days from receipt of this contract and payment.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If James Bowyer Photography is unable to photograph your wedding
for reasons beyond their control, (death, injury, sickness etc.), their liability shall be limited to a full refund of all monies paid.

After a period of 14 days from the date of signing the contract, as compensation for loss of income for James Bowyer Photography the following charges apply as a percentage of the total fee due:

60 days or less (before the wedding date) - 100%
61-90 days - 75%
91-120 days - 50%

Should the cancelled wedding turn out to be a postponement, then, subject to availability, all money paid may be applied to the new wedding date.

Q. When do we need to pay the final balance?
A. The final balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding date.

Q. What camera does James use?
A. We use professional digital cameras. James shoots using a 22 million pixel Canon 5D Mark II and has a Canon 400D as backup.  These cameras along with a selection of top quality lenses allow us to work in all lighting conditions.

Q. Do images all have to be taken in either colour, black and white or sepia?
A. As James is a professional digital photographer all photographs are taken in colour, however we can edit images with various effects including black and white or sepia.  We will discuss your preferences at the time of booking

Q. How many photographs will you take?
A. We have no fixed number. The quantity taken is dependent upon many factors, e.g. the number of locations throughout the day, the amount of available time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and whether 4hrs or full day coverage has been booked.  Most weddings produce between 200 - 400 fantastic edited images.

Q. How do we view our pictures after the wedding?
A. Once your big day has come to a close, we will be busy editing your pictures in our digital suite.  Your images will be ready for you to view and select at our home studio within 7 days at a mutually convenient time.  Once you have seen the images we will upload the pictures into your own private online gallery for family and friends to view.

Q. How can family members and friends view images if they do not have access to a computer?
A. Please let us know if you require a proof book and we can arrange this for an additional charge of £65.

Q. How can family and friends place additional orders?
A. We will contact you with details of how to log into your online gallery where online orders can be made and paid using PayPal.  You do not need a PayPal account to use this facility.

Q. How long does it take to receive our order?
A. Album production is outsourced and does take longer to prepare, therefore you should expect to wait around 4-6 weeks once you have agreed the design.  Individual prints, canvases and DVD's should be with you within 10 working days.

Q. How long will you keep the images taken?
A. After 6 months we will transfer the images from your wedding onto a disc in the event you later wish to purchase additional photographs or replace an album.  You may also wish to consider purchasing a copyright DVD containing all edited images.

Q. We have purchased a copyright free DVD, what will the quality be like when I make my own prints?
A. All edited files will be colour corrected and edited prior to despatch to yourselves. The quality & colour of prints however will be out of our hands and we cannot offer any guarantees regarding this.  Please remember images may be cropped when processed by a developer.

Q. Who owns the copyright on our images?
A. The 1998 Copyright, Designs, and Patents Act assigns copyright to James Bowyer Photography and these may be used for marketing purposes. You may not copy the photographs taken under this contract, or allow copies to be made photographically, electronically, or by any other means unless a copyright free DVD has been purchased.

Q. Can I have more than one professional photography company covering my wedding?
A. James Bowyer Photography shall be the sole professional (still) photographers at the venues specified. We do positively encourage family, friends, and other guests to take photographs throughout the day.

Q. Are you insured?
A. James Bowyer Photography has full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
